About Us

Baltic Contemporary Music Network seeks to boost the spread and impact of new music from Baltic States in the Nordic region. Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian composers unions are striving to consolidate and focus coordinated activities towards development and implementation of innovative strategies to promote new music, first of all in closest geopolitical vicinity. Current contexts and market for new music became segmented, where old approaches still exist, however new once are also emerging, mostly influenced by internet, new media technologies etc. This leads to organisational challenges, in which case the approach a single country can take is not enough. Central challenge of network is tackling international career development of emerging and prominent composers and new music performers.
